The Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad, Inc. is a corporation registered under the laws of the state of New Jersey, and is a not-for-profit entity under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS tax code. The Squad is also registered with the New Jersey Charities Registration and makes its audited financial statements available to the public upon request.
The Squad is not part of any municipal department, nor is it a branch of any hospital or other institution. It exists as an independent non-profit corporation for the sole purpose of providing superior quality emergency medical and technical rescue services to the community.
A number of factors have contributed to the increasing cost of running the Squad. An increasing call volume, operational equipment costs (particularly replacement apparatus), and a significant increase in administrative costs (primarily insurance) have strained the capabilities of our annual fund drive. To provide for the continued high quality service goals for our community, the Squad must also build a replacement headquarters that can accomodate our officers, members, and apparatus in the future. In addition to relying on donations from the community, the Squad bills for service to augment our fund raising efforts.

| By making a monthly pledge, you are able to support the efforts of our dedicated volunteers without paying all at once. Each month, a designated amount can be given to the Rescue Squad. |
If you prefer, you may print out a donation form to mail in your contribution. Please note if you would like to make a donation in honor or memory of someone. |
| Gifts of appreciated securities can be put to work immediately, whether for a specific purpose, for general operational support, or for investment as a permanent endowment. |
A simple and wonderful way to make a contribution is to leave a specific amount of money, a particular asset, or a percentage of an estate to the Squad by naming PFARS as a beneficiary in a will or trust. |
| By naming PFARS as the irrevocable beneficiary in a trust, donors are provided with the benefits of a current tax deduction as well as income from the asset. Upon the passing of the donor, the value of the trust supports the Rescue Squad. |
Retaining a life tenancy in a primary residence to be later donated to the Rescue Squad gives a donor an immediate charitable tax deduction and the security of knowing family members will not be burdened with the sale of a home or property at some future date. |
